The lab director, Dr. Mohsen Amini, originally founded HPCC Lab in 2016 at University of Louisiana Lafayette. The paradigm shift has been enabled through a spectrum of distributed computing systems: from <em>IoT <\/em>and <em>Edge <\/em>devices to <em>Fog <\/em>and <em>Cloud <\/em>Computing systems. This paradigm shift, along with the accelerated research on <em>AI <\/em>and Machine Learning, is leading to the emergence of the new generation of Cloud Computing systems that we call it <strong>Cloud 2.0<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Accordingly, our <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">mission<\/span> <\/strong>at the HPCC&nbsp;lab is to innovate at the forefront of scientific discovery and <em>help in the development of Cloud 2.0 to improve the quality of human life<\/em> and provide human beings a more mature life experience! The <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">scope<\/span> <\/strong>of our research encompasses all aspects of Cloud 2.0\u2014including <em>CloudAI, domain-specific clouds, heterogeneous computing, <\/em>and <em>fluid computing<\/em> (both across edge-to-cloud and multi-cloud).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through this website, you can find more detailed information about the projects, people, and activities of the HPCC lab.
